CALL FOR PAPERS IS CLOSED - please email us if you have extraordinary circumstances you would like us to consider.

CONFERENCE TOPICS
The Sixth International Conference on Marine Bioinvasions will provide a forum for workers to discuss invasions in the world's oceans. Papers are encouraged along the following or related themes:

Ecological and evolutionary impacts
How changing global conditions, including climate, will influence bioinvasions
Predicting the scale and diversity of invasions
Measuring and/or predicting spread on regional and global scales
Invasion patterns over time and space: does the past predict the future?
Detection, identification, and tracking-to-origin capabilities
Management, rapid response, eradication, and restoration
Recreational vessels as vectors of invasive species
Education and outreach: is the message reaching the right audience?

Keynote speakers and focused panels will address these themes as well as emerging issues.

Special Sessions are being drafted on the following topics:

European Green Crabs - management and ecology
Lionfish - causes of invasion, consequences, solutions
Advances in Detection - the development of molecular tools for detection and monitoring
Propagule Pressure and invasion success
Spartina - biology and management

Please indicate your first and second choice session topics when you submit your abstract. Oral presentations will be limited to 15 minutes. Maximum poster dimensions will be announced at a later date.

Early-Career Participant Travel Assistance
If you are an early-career participant (graduate student nearing completion or post-doctoral researcher) and would like your abstract to be considered for a travel award please indicate so on your abstract submission form . At present, we can offer partial support ~ approximately $500 USD per award. Because some awards are region-specific, don't forget to indicate the country in which you work.
