While this website is focused on non-native brackish and marine species, we also summarize information on freshwater invaders of special concern.

Oregon's estuaries are becoming increasing invaded by non-native species. Invading organisms may impact estuarine ecosystems by changing the availability of resources, altering food webs, disturbing and degrading habitats, or by directly competing, parasitizing, or preying upon native species. While some non-native species are relatively benign, others negatively impact the ecology and economics of a region. Please use this website to inform, identify, and report non-native aquatic species in Oregon waters.
